About Us
Since 1996 in the Manawatu
The early days
It has been many years since 1996 when the Manawatu Coffee Roasting Coffee Company appeared in Palmerston’s Coleman Mall and later George Street.
Original owner, Donne Mardle, started initially roasting with a 12kg Otto Swadla – mainly for himself, friends and one cafe. We still supply that same commercial cafe!
Current owners, Sally and Brian, purchased Ebony Coffee Roasters in 2012 and have grown the business many fold with a knowledgeable, loyal team.
Ebony Coffee has paved its way into many local and further afield, coffee drinkers daily lives.

Our Local community

We support cycling Manawatu – Junior girls Novice Tour and many other local cultural and sporting activities.
Factory door bean sales are growing too. We are encouraging the public back for their caffeine hit direct! Every week someone wanders in, saying that they wondered where Ebony Coffee went from George Street and how pleased they are to be able to purchase a favourite blend again.
Keep following your noses to the Ebony Coffee Roastery, we look forward to meeting you all.
